Sport Massage Therapy
Ryan is a certification candidate (cc) and active member of the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA). He is also currently the President of the Atlantic Chapter of the CSMTA, working to bring increased awareness to athletes in the Atlantic Region regarding the practice of Sport Massage Therapy.
The CSMTA is affiliated with the Canadian Olympic Committee and serves as the governing body that confirms the credentials and education of those certified massage therapists wishing to become eligible for selection for Major Games, such as the Commonwealth, Pan Am, Para/Olympic Games. In order to become certified, therapists are required to complete 500 hours of hands-on sport massage while working with athletes from all levels of competition, and then successfully complete the National Certification Examinations. This is how the CSMTA is able to use the slogan, "Keeping Athletes in Good Hands!"
